The Editor is the final pair of eyes on every copy across multiple media projects ensuring that PoP has a polished and professional online presence that contributes to the overall success of PoP’s content and communication strategies.
This position is under an Independent Contractor status and will directly report to the Operation Director. This is a part-time remote position for $50/hour for a maximum of 40 hours per month (8 hours per week on average).
People over Plastic (PoP) is seeking a multimedia journalist based in the Gulf South for a petrochemical public awareness campaign. The main work is to contribute journalism assets to a “story bank” - the provision of 800 word feature articles, preservation of original transcripts of interviews and audio, video and photographic assets from original interviews. The journalist will be producing mainly first-person stories and investigating communities affected by living and working near petrochemical industrial plants and other polluting industries.Read the full job description and how to apply here.
The journalist will report to the managing director and work closely with an editor to fulfill their roles and responsibilities. This position is under the Independent Contractor status out of Texas or Louisiana or as a full-time salaried role per California law. This is a remote work position with 25% required travel, including to remote industrial zones.
